Malcolm can not get enough of the playground. We go a few times a week, and he never runs out of energy for it. This suits him well, as he's very expressive in the large motor skill department. Climbing and jumping and lifting and sliding are some of his favorite activities. And just today, he developed a trot.
His other big strength is order and method. He knows where everything belongs, and loves to pick up litter at the park so he can run over and put it in the trash can. (Although, he also likes to gets things out of the trash to play with.) When he can sense that we're getting ready to go somewhere, he rushes to his drawers to get his shoes, hat and sunglasses.
In the last couple weeks, his talking has seemed to change from random gibbering, to an attempt at communicating. He's telling stories with big hand gestures. With persuasion, we can get him to say "Mama" and "Dada" now. He also like to talk on his phone, putting his hand up to ear to talk and laugh. He's very good at waving good-bye when we leave somewhere, and recently started waving at cars when they pass by our house.
He loves to play outside, and usse his frustration to communicate how important it is;) Indeed, it has been good for me to be reminded that I need to stop doing dishes so we can go play in the yard.
Chris recently broke into the Antique Mall business, with a spot at the Springfield Antique Center.
Malcolm really enjoyed riding the cart after helping us carry all the stuff in.
Time for a walk to the Yellow Spring.
And down Mommy's favorite trail.
We took a family excursion to Sabina, Ohio the other day, and found the Beam Farm Indian Mound, and new one for our collection.
Prom!! We got dressed up and danced all night on Saturday. It was fun, but then we we're completely wiped out the whole next day. Chris took care of Malcolm for Mothers Day while I laid in bed with the flu.

I love that picture of Malcolm in the blue plastic playground thingo.
