We are doing well in Ohio. Malcolm is talking more and more, and just today started referring to himself in the first person instead of third person, although most of the time he said "Malca-me," but once he said "I." (Mommy play with Malca-me" and "I help Daddy.") He's as busy playing as ever, from sun up to sun down. And it's lovely to be outside more with the weather warming up.
This is how Malcolm helps me pay bills. (These were his favorite pants for a week).
He normally doesn't pay any attention to the video monitor in his room, but one day I used the microphone function to tell him I was on my way up and he looked straight at the camera. The black and white contrast makes him look so interesting.
Racoon is learning how to play piano.
"New" glasses.
He loves playing with water, and one morning he pointed at the drain and said "hole."
Then he opened the cupboard, pointed at the drainpipe and said "water." He's a genius!
And he loves to watch the "bubbies" when the washer is going.
One morning I told Malcolm to go get his diaper stuff ready, and he did! He got out his changing cloth, a diaper, some wipes, baby powder, rash cream, a hairbrush, and neosporin. He was ready!
We zipped up to Illinois for an early season Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Malcolm did well, but his favorite part was watching the trains that ran near the stadium.
Cubbies won!
Malcolm slept in a closet;)
With his cousins, the teenagers!
We moved Malcolm into a big bed, and it turned out to be a good thing to start with just the mattress on the floor because he ends up in all kinds of positions.
Storytime: "Bear in Love." Bunny needs a diaper change each night these days.
New dinosaur slide at the Childrens Museum.
We finally got out to a playground the other day, and I had underestimated how much he was ready to be playing outside again. We were there much longer than I had expected.
He even learned how to penguin slide.
We went on a long walk/bike ride on Sunday, and he found a kitty that he really wanted to say hi too.
Then the kitty followed us up the sidewalk.
So Malcolm just sat down and relaxed with him some more.
Then he needed to fix the tree.
A little taste of YS: the residents who have this fire hydrant on their property have painted it Cleveland Brown colors so many times that the Village finally wrote into the city ordinance that the fire hydrant on Whiteman Street will remain brown and orange, as maintained by the residents.
This is still how Malcolm helps me cook.
He conveniently demonstrated his technique for the camera.

How wonderful. Thanks for putting all these up.
ReplyDeleteWell my dear Whitney, you have done it again. All your pictures and captions are captivating. I wish I had 1/2 your talent!
