We had a wonderful Christmas season in our home, including lots of carols being played on the piano, wrapping gifts while watching Christmas movies, making chocolate covered pretzels, and a really lovely ornament making party.
Then we headed to Nebraska to celebrate Christmas with my family.
Reading a book with Grandma Cindy, who hosted us for four days of warm home, abundant food, and lots of playing with the grandkids so the parents could sleep in:)
We drove to Lincoln for the Christmas Eve services so that we could hear Brooke sing a beautiful duet with her brother and meet her family. Malcolm was entranced by the choir and lights while sitting on his Uncle Joe's lap for a full forty-five minutes (a very long time for Malcolm to sit still anywhere).
We made sure to leave milk and cookies out for Santa, which had been eaten in the morning!
Malcolm was looking real good for Christmas with the family.
Luca, Court and Malcolm. The first present to be unwrapped was such a hit that we had a hard time pulling the kids away from it:)
I created a particularly elaborate system of labeling our Christmas gifts for the hopeful benefit of my five-year old niece, Luca, who loves puzzles. Instead of names, each gift had a sticker that symbolized a particular family member, with a solving key hidden within the Christmas tree. My efforts felt very worthwhile when she started jumping up and down in excitement over figuring out who's present was who's. She did a wonderful job of solving the puzzle and got each gift to the correct person.
Chris, Court and Luca solving the great mystery of the bathroom door locked from the inside!
Auntie Brooke enjoying double the little boy fun!
Monster, puppy and boy.
Malcolm and Henry.

So wonderful.
