Family Tour 2016

In April, we packed up the kids and hit the road to visit as much family as we could in one drive.

I like to get up real early for our drives to Nebraska. This time we all loaded into the car at 5am and I drove us through Indiana into Illinois where we lucked upon the beautiful Salt Kettle rest are to stop for our breakfast.

Malcolm caught up on his current events,
and building projects in the car.

These tiny baby seats are always so adorable.

We spent a beautiful day at Joe and Brooke's house in Lincoln where the cousins got to play together,

and we got to meet Baby Eddison!

I didn't realize that iPhones could take photos with double exposure. This one is pretty cool.

Did I take these?

Chris LOVES old phone booths, and we found one in Lincoln that is still operating! So of course, we had to stop at 9 at night to get our family photo taken in it.

We got to go to the zoo with Grandma Cindy!!

Hanging out at Grandma Cindy and Papa Chucks house.

After a wonderful visit in Nebraska, we pointed to car toward northern Illinois.

The unexpected theme of this drive was water towers! We started pointing them out to Malcolm, and then he started pointing them out to us, and before we knew it, we couldn't stop finding them. This was Chris's favorite. Malcolm's was the giant smiley face water tower.

Grandma Dorothy had a fresh box of sidewalk chalk for Malcolm!!

And Ada got to go to her first game at Wrigley Field!

We were lucky enough to have Grandma Dorothy, Uncle Joe and cousins Margaret and Eleanor join us too.

After the game, we went to Wicker Park for a fun night out, where found a yummy ramen restaurant and a Levi's store, where Chris was finally able to get the jean jacket he's been looking for since longer than I've known him!

 Breakfast with Grandma.

I drew a picture of us all at the Cubs game,

and Malcolm drew his first stick people all on his own, I was very impressed!!

What a great trip!

  2. Really a super job, Whitney. Loved all the pictures of Nebraska. Your Mother, Cindy really takes the cake as an outstanding Grandmother! Also appreciate the pictures taken at the Cub's game on April 28th, especially of me eating (yukking up)those noodles!
